The need for backup power in most communities is fundamental to growth and development, however power in remote locations is especially critical. PwrPac is helping the State of Texas build its energy independence and providing backup power in the remote locations where its needed most. We will design, procure, construct, develop, operate and maintain Lithium-Ion based Renewable (Solar) Battery Energy Electricity Storage System (RBESS) coupled with a Solar PV array with the total System rated at 1MW Power Capacity, and 1MWh Energy capacity along TX-349 in Martin County, Texas, approx. 18 miles North of I-20 along TX-349. The system will be maintained for a minimum period of 7 years, and is primarily intended to help Texas Electric Grid with resilience and support in times of load shedding or peak loads, as determined by Electric Utility. The grant is funded by TERP and consists of a 590kUSD in matching costs for the development.

Hospitals rely heavily on life-supporting machines, such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and heart-lung machines, that must function 24/7 to keep patients alive. A power failure without an immediate backup could result in catastrophic consequences, including loss of life. In emergencies, diagnostic and monitoring systems including CT scanners, MRI machines, and X-rays, require consistent power to support diagnosis and treatment of communities affected. Additionally, critical patient monitoring systems provide real-time updates on vital signs, and any disruption could jeopardize the care being provided. The Operating Rooms cannot function without the power needed for the lights, ventilators, and anesthesia machines. Any power loss during surgery could lead to life-threatening situations for patients undergoing procedures. PwrPac is working with local communities across the country to identify the best solutions for Energy Generation and Storage to keep Hospitals powered and support life-saving Medical Services, Run Dialysis Machines, Critical Operations and maintain Communication for Emergency Management. Continuous power is also ensures Life-saving medicines, vaccines, and blood are stored at specific temperatures preventing spoilage or degradation. Hospitals increasingly rely on electronic health records for patient information, medical histories, and treatment administration, which are all inaccessible without power. Even basic building functions like Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) are crucial for maintaining a sterile environment, preventing infections, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients, especially in intensive care units and neonatal units. Crisis management in emergencies simply cannot happen effectively without power. Hospitals need immediate power for lighting, communications, and other essential services to effectively manage natural disasters, accidents, or pandemics. Hospitals are often a refuge for those in need during those events.
